The
Lodge
The St. Joe Lodge was
built in the 1940's and still retains much of that flavor.
This venerable old building has stood the test of time, and is
as solid today as when it was built. It is not only a work
of art, but a landmark on the upper St. Joe. This rustic
log structure contains one room on the ground floor that is used
for cooking, eating, and a general gathering place. The
loft over the lodge serves as sleeping quarters for the crew.
Along with the lodge,
we have two cabins that hold up to four people each (four single
beds) and a tent house that is suitable for two. Each cabin
has a wood heater. You will need to bring a sleeping bag
for each member of your party. Pillows and towels are provided.
Also on the Lodge grounds
are a wash house, with a hot shower, two outhouses, and a barn
and corral system. A generator shed houses a propane fired
generator, which we use to produce light and electricity for a
few hours each evening.
Please keep in mind
that this is not a "luxury resort" or "dude ranch" with planned
activities, just backwoods comfort. If you're looking for
a unique outdoor experience, with a rustic flavor, this is the
place.
